Critical Materials America is the premiere organization to support critical mineral and rare earth element resource policies for the United States. CMA will work with key policymakers and stakeholders to advance innovation by advancing innovation to and support domestic supply chains and reduce the United States’ reliance on critical mineral materials from adversarial nations.

The United States relies on mineral resources every day for everything from energy to technology to healthcare to national defense. As a country, it is crucial that we are doing everything practicable we can to increase domestic production and preserve our national security interests. As the world transitions to a clean energy economy, global demand for these critical minerals is set to skyrocket over the next several decades. • Increase public awareness and build support to protect America from the threat of rare-earth element supply disruptions, encourage domestic production of those elements, and reduce the United States reliance on China.
• Build support for a safe and diverse critical materials supply chain within a framework of a feasible regulatory framework.
• Provide companies and innovators with a framework for stable, sustainable, domestic supplies of the critical minerals needed for a thriving economy and a green energy future.
• Raise awareness of domestic projects that support critical minerals and materials exploration, resource identification, production, and processing in traditional mining and fossil fuel-producing communities across the country.
• Accelerate innovative scientific and technological solutions to develop resilient and secure supply chains for rare-earth metals and other materials critical to the success of clean energy technologies.
• Engage policy makers for new rare earth processing methods and solutions to environmental issues related to mining and processing.
• Partner with institutions of higher learning including national laboratories, trade associations and stakeholder groups to strengthen America’s position as a global leader in critical materials technology.
